Living at Forest Oaks

Community Pool

The neighborhood pool is available to all Forest Oaks residents and is open 9 AM - 10 PM daily with quiet hours from 8 PM-10 PM. 


Our pool offers a bathroom, outdoor speakers, emergency phone, lighting for evening swims, chairs, tables, umbrellas and a charcoal grill. 


This is a private community pool and is not open to the public. The pool gate code should never be shared with non-residents or guests. If you need the pool gate code, please email the board at forestoaksks@gmail.com.


GUARDIAN WAIVERS

Children under age 12 must be  accompanied by an adult.  If you have a babysitter, nanny or grandparent taking your kids to the pool this summer, please complete the guardian waiver form. This form should be filled out each summer.


POOL RULES

The pool is open 9 AM - 10 PM daily with quiet hours from 8 PM-10 PM. 

  • There is No Lifeguard on Duty. All swimmers swim at their own risk. 
  • Only FOHA Residents (Homeowners & Renters) and their guests may use the pool. 
  • Guests must be accompanied by the FOHA resident. Each Forest Oaks household is allowed to bring up to 4 guests. FOHA Residents are responsible for their guest and guests’ actions. Forest Oaks residents, ages 12–17 years old, may bring only 1 guest each. The guest must be 12 years of age or older. 
  • Forest Oaks residents under 12 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian/babysitter. Parents must sign the Forest Oaks Guardian-Swim Waiver giving the care-giver permission to bring their child(ren) to the pool. 
  • No radio or music is allowed during quiet hours. 
  • Forest Oaks residents <17 years old must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian during quiet hours. 
  • No horseplay or other dangerous behavior is allowed. 
  • Diving is prohibited. No Diving signs are posted. 
  • Other behaviors such as flipping off sides or ladders, pushing, running, etc. are unacceptable.
  • Any behavior which results in damage to the pool, furniture, or pool house/property is prohibited. 
  • This is a family-friendly pool. Swimmers must be aware of the safety and comfort levels of all swimmers including toddlers or adults using the pool. 
  • No smoking is allowed inside the pool area or within 20 feet of the pool entrance. If residents or guests would like to smoke, they must do so on the sidewalk next to the street. 
  • No glass is allowed in the pool area. 
  • No pets, bikes, or skateboards are allowed in the pool area. 
  • Any FOHA Resident in good standing may enforce these rules. 
  • The FOHA Board of Directors may deny pool use at any time for violations of these rules.

Pool Rental

Did you know residents can rent the pool for private parties?
Utilize the pool space for your next get together for just $60. Contact the pool manager or check the neighborhood calendar to verify availability. To learn more about pool rentals and to make a reservation please see the pool rental agreement.

Trash & Recycling

  • Trash Day is every Thursday. We recommend placing your trash and recycling barrels at the curb the night before as the trash is collected as early at 7am Thursday mornings. 
  • Big Pick Up day is the 4th Thursday of each month and one large/bulky item can be placed out on the curb along with your trash. 
  • Trash barrels need to be stored out of sight from the street, according to Overland Park City Ordinance.

Holiday Schedule

Neighborhood Events

Throughout the year, the board and social committee host neighborhood activities.

  • Neighborhood garage sale usually takes place in June and is decided on at the annual meeting each year
  • BUNCO - Roll the dice and try your luck at the monthly neighborhood BUNCO night where a different player hosts it at their house each month. Each player brings $5.

As a member of the FOHA, you can view the neighborhood directory on our website. This directory is not visible to the public and requires a private invite and is password protected. If you are new to the neighborhood, please reach out to the board for a directory invite at forestoaksks@gmail.com 


All Forest Oaks residents are members of the Forest Oaks Homeowners Association (FOHA). 


As a member of the association, you gain access to the neighborhood pool and trash & recycling pick up is provided for. 

  • Annual dues for 2024 are $480
  • Annual dues are due before March 1st each year and can be turned in at the annual meeting or mailed to 11305 West 109th Street.
  • Annual meeting announcements and invitations are formally mailed out to all residents each year. If you are unable to attend, please fill out a proxy form as obtaining a quorum is essential at this meeting.

Forest Oaks is located in the Olathe School District and school bus transportation is free for children in our neighborhood. 


Elementary School - Walnut Grove
Middle School - Pioneer Trail
High School - Olathe East


Forest Oaks is located in an area of Overland Park that makes it quick and easy to get to almost anywhere in Kansas City within a 20 minute drive. Through out the day, you will see our active residents walking dogs, running and kids riding bikes through the neighborhood and trail systems.


  • Grocery Store - Hen House is located just outside the neighborhood. Other grocery stores such as Whole Foods and Natural Grocers are located 5 minutes away.
  • Pharmacy - CVS is located just outside the neighborhood near Hen House
  • Parks - a variety of parks to enjoy the outdoors and playground options for children to play
  • Dog Park - off leash park at Stoll Park 
  • Gas Station and Carwash: located just outside the neighborhood near Hen House
  • Trails and pathways connect through out the city of Overland Park. The Indian Creek Trail is located just 1 mile south on Nieman Road.
  • Shopping and restaurants are nearby at Oak Park Mall, Target, Town Center Plaza, Kansas City Country Club Plaza and more. Kansas City is home to many large retailers and small boutique owners.
